We will build on the foundation you developed in Puppy Basics (or a similar group class). We will work on making you the most important thing in your pup’s life.

• Instructor: Joe Hague, 2002 graduate of American Institute of Animal Sciences

• Number of sessions: 5

• Frequency and Duration: 50 minutes per week on Tuesdays from June 11 to July 16 (no class on July 2)

• Time: 6:00 p.m. - 6:50 p.m.

• Venue: Jeffrey’s North Beach (1841 Powell Street, San Francisco)

  REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 months or older

  • Completion of Puppy Basics or a similar introductory group course at another puppy training facility

  • Dog must have been in your home for AT LEAST 10 days prior to the first meeting.

  • Your puppy must be FULLY vaccinated AT LEAST 7 days prior to the first meeting.

    Bordetella (Kennel cough) and Canine Influenza Virus H3N2/H3N8 vaccines recommended, but not required. Please consult your veterinarian.

  • Your dog must not attend class wearing a slip, shock, choke or prong collar. Flat collars or harnesses ONLY.

  • This course is not appropriate for fearful, aggressive, or reactive dogs or dogs who bark excessively. Owners of dogs who exhibit signs of these issues are encouraged to seek out private training.

  WHAT WE WILL COVER

  • Commands, such as Wait, Heel, Sit-stay, Go lie down, Drop it

  • Hear and respond to commands while engaged in play

  WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Basic, simple 6’ leash and collar

  • Lots of high-valued, tasty treats cut in pea-size pieces [Treats must be of high value because we will be working in distractions and nothing is more distracting than other puppies]

  • Several items for your pup to chew on when your trainer demos (For example, stuffed kong, bully stick, beef tendon, etc)

  • Small rug, blanket, or towel

  • Your puppy
